The yearly snowbird migration is still weeks away, but the rise of the Covid Delta variant waves in Florida are causing some seasonal residents to rethink travel plans. However, others say they’re determined to make the trip after missing their Florida trip last year.
A growing number of people, some now vaccinated, expect to head south for the winter despite spread of the Delta variant. According to the Wall Street Journal, nearly 90% of the estimated 1 million snowbirds who travel annually from Canada, say they will head for warmer areas compared to just 30% last year.
