Take a trip to Save Our Seabirds, Save our Seabirds, great local organization whose mission is to rescue and rehabilitate sick and injured birds, releasing as many as possible, while educating our community about avoiding injuries and preserving habitats. Located next to Mote Marine Aquarium at 1708 Ken Thompson Parkway in Sarasota we were able to learn more about some of their resident birds and the work they do in our area. They are open 365 Days a year from 10:00am to 4:00pm and I highly recommend you stop by, bring the kids/family and leave a donation to help out this great local cause!
Are you a golf lover? Sarasota is a great destination for those who love to golf. Start out getting the latest and greatest apparel and gear at the PGA Superstore in Sarasota, take the family for some mini golf, or explore one of the numerous courses in the area. How about a visit to Benderson Park; a 600-acre community park featuring world class rowing amenities, as well as trails, lakes and more. You can even rent a kayak, paddle board or pontoon paddle boat!
Next, a quick trip to the John Ringling Museum and Estate. Tour the circus or art museum or meander around the stunning Ca’ d’Zan; John Ringling’s Florida Winter estate. Admission is free on Mondays, as well!
Maybe there is a car aficionado in the family? A trip to the Sarasota Classic Car Museum is one not to miss. The second oldest car museum in the nation is home to 75 cars and was recently featured on The History Channel!
If you are wanting to spend the day outside, Marie Selby Gardens is a great way to spend a few hours. This 15-acre botanical garden is located directly on the Sarasota Bayfront and is one of the top rated attractions in Sarasota!
